Alex Miller moved to New York from Ohio in 2009. He's been playing at Prohibition ever since and is a regular in the New York bar-gig scene. His wide variety of covers range from classic rock and folk hits of the 60s and 70s (Eagles, Neil Young, Grateful Dead, etc), to new wave from the 80s (Talking Heads, Tears For Fears, etc), to 90s rock (Hootie and The Blowfish, Pearl Jam, Eve 6, etc), to 2000s pop (Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, etc). Always motivated by patrons having a good time, he's happy to play a request if he knows how... and sometimes he'll even try one if he doesn't. So stick around all night, grab another round, and be sure to tip your servers!

Isabel is a pop singer/songwriter in NYC who brings the good vibes! Every Saturday night she plays piano and sings at another Upper West Side spot, the Arthouse Hotel. At Prohibition, she is joined by Skyler Fortgang on drums, Steph Chow on guitar and Thomas Carley on bass, as well as Gabe Kuslansky on piano for a few numbers. Isabel loves music from the 70s, 00s and everything in between. Alicia Keys, Carole King, Elton John, Lady Gaga…any hit song with piano and vocals, she’ll play it!

Miss Maybell & Her Ragtime Romeos  plays a large repertoire of Jazz, Ragtime and Blues from the 1890’s - 1920’s. We source our tunes from dusty old 78 records and antique sheet music, trying to give new life to songs created over 100 years ago! With this unique sound and dedication we were recently featured on The NPR Show “Person, Place, Thing” With Randy Cohen. We have a sizable local following from our residencies at Birdland Theater as well as venues such as Flatiron Room, Chez Josephene, The Back Room, The Refinery Hotel, St Mazie and McKittrick Hotel. With this unique sound and dedication we were recently featured on The NPR Show “Person, Place, Thing” With Randy Cohen. We also have an international following from performing regularly in Europe, recently headlining Sevilla Swing in Seville, Spain and selling out a week of shows at Marian's Jazz Room in Bern, Switzerland.

Savannah Jaine and Lee Meadows met working in a band in the Middle East and have since held Artist Residencies in Abu Dhabi, Ibiza and England. Bonding over their love of Americana music, they wrote and produced their first album in Manchester, England entitled Slow Burn Baby. Together, they take song requests and play your favorite tunes so you can drink, dance and singalong!

The Speak Lows are a newly formed trio featuring singer/songwriter/guitarist Tony Hoylen, pianist/songwriter Mark Berman, and bassist/composer Dave Richards.

 

On their own, these talented NYC performers have played with some of the biggest names in music (Aretha Franklin, Gladys Night, The Indigo Girls, Rosanne Cash, Jewel) and worked on the hottest Broadway shows (The Boy From Oz, Smokey Joe’s Café, Rent) as well as Television with Mark as a special cast member of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

 

Together, the Speak Lows’ blend of musical prowess and soulful vocals creates a sound and style uniquely their own. Their set includes a fresh take on a range of covers (from Johnny Cash to CeeLo Green), original songs, stories, and even some jazz standards.
