Amanda Addleman
Sunday April 26th
Amanda Addleman is a New York City-based, San Francisco-raised vocalist, pianist, composer, arranger, and educator.
Addleman’s musical approach is one well-steeped in a reverence for the traditions of great jazz musicians of the last century, yet her sound represents an informed departure from the sounds of earlier generations of improvisational musicians. In fusing the spirit of contemporary folk, rock, and pop composition and performance stylings, Addleman’s style blossoms with a freedom from genre restraint, while maintaining a consistent and cohesive sound that still maintains an obvious reverence for those who came before.
Addleman earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Berklee College of Music and her Master’s from Manhattan School of Music. She has graced the stage of venues all over the country including: Birdland (NYC), Dizzy’s Club (NYC), 55 Bar (NYC), SF Conservatory of Music, Savannah Jazz Club (SF), Mr Tipples Jazz Bar (SF), and many more. She maintains a monthly residency at the Ivy Room in the Flatiron district of NYC.
She is currently on faculty at Manhattan School of Music’s PreCollege, Long Island University, and the Calhoun School in NYC as well as maintaining a robust private studio.
Her two full length releases are available on amandaaddleman.bandcamp.com and all streaming services, and have been praised by critics and musicians alike.
"The breezy sound of her music brings the power of her singing into sharp focus. Her work is hauntingly lovely and memorable." - Jerome Wilson, All About Jazz
