BSKI Duo event photo

BSKI Duo

Tuesday May 26th

“Meet new school old school crooner BSKi, (pronounced “bee-skee”) with a touch Jamiroquai and neo-soul, it’s the pure poetry he’s writing that takes his sound to another level…” -Elevtrtrax.com

Brian Collazo, also known as BSKi, is a singer and songwriter based in New York. The first generation “Nuyorican” grew up in a musical family, influenced by everything from the sounds of ‘90s R&B and Hip Hop, to the classic bolero music his father would sing & play around the house.

This musical upbringing led to a career as an  in-demand session singer and live vocalist in New York, working with the likes of the Roots, Shawn Mendes, Lorde, Lisa Lisa and many others.

His own music blends R&B, Funk & Hip-Hop with afro-latin rhythms in a style he refers to as “sancochofunk” (sancocho=stew or gumbo); infusing an often tongue-in-cheek lyrical approach with a highly percussive and magnetic stage show. More experiential than merely musical, these vibes are crafted to make you move something.

BSKi’s latest single “Get on the Floor” is a collaboration with long-time musical partner Greg Mayo and pairs lush Janet Jackson-esque harmonies with Puerto Rican plena rhythms and a New York club aesthetic. Like he said, sancochofunk. ;)

His wide variety of covers range from classic rock and folk hits of the 60s and 70s (Eagles, Neil Young, Grateful Dead, etc), to new wave from the 80s (Talking Heads, Tears For Fears, etc), to 90s rock (Hootie and The Blowfish, Pearl Jam, Eve 6, etc), to 2000s pop (Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, etc). Always motivated by patrons having a good time, he's happy to play a request if he knows how... and sometimes he'll even try one if he doesn't. So stick around all night, grab another round, and be sure to tip your servers!
