Todd Carey and Rodney Flood
Todd Carey and Rodney Flood
“I fought for this record,” confesses singer-songwriter Todd Carey. The acclaimed artist set out to make a career-defining album with Future Throwback. His quest spanned three years, tracking in four states, shelving three records and feverishly writing 70 songs. The outcome is a euphoric pop record that’s playfully irreverent and brimming with sleek urban beats and swaggering pop hooks. Rarely has an artist been this serious about showing his audience a good time.

“When I look back on making this album, I feel I achieved my goal as a writer,” Carey says. “I sleep well at night because I made this record.”

The New York-based artist previously hit the top forty iTunes charts with his 2010 EP release After the Morning After. In support of his 2007 debut, Watching Waiting (Fontana), he played over 250 dates, with sellout shows in Chicago and Wisconsin, dazzling audiences with his pop song smarts, masterful guitar playing and exuberant stage presence. Carey has toured nationally and performed on stage with such diverse artists as Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Marc Broussard, Brendan James, Jason Reeves, Keaton Simons and Matt Duke. Since 2010 he has been a fixture at the annual Hotel Carolina music festival. His music has been featured in MTV’s The Real World and movies such as Palo Alto and True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet.

Future Throwback is the culmination of all this past work and the album feels like a celebration of self-realization. It’s Todd Carey in Technicolor, the purest and most vibrant representation of his live show, charming, flirtatious, frisky and bubbling over with good vibes.

The leadoff single “Nintendo” is the invitation to the party. On it, Todd flows sugary rhymes and, with 1980s retro whimsy, name checks Captain Crunch, Battleship, and shoes with pumps. “We wanted to keep things sexy with the grooves and beats and fun with those throwback lyrics,” Carey says of the tune’s intent. “Those references, mixed with the modern sensibility of the track, create a really cool modern/retro juxtaposition that lives throughout the record.”

Overall, it’s an assured and expansive album. Carey emancipates himself from genre confines and applies his refined songcraft to a mix of beat-driven pop, brawny rock riffage, intimate singer-songwriter moments and a potpourri of urban-flavored blends. He smolders on the R&B-flavored mid tempo “Dead and Gone,” eases back with balmy reggaeton on “Light Her Up” and swanks on the stadium rocker “Forget Ya.”

During the writing process, Carey found a complimentary talent in top-line writer and lyricist K Nita. The two were introduced via Kanye West recording engineer Ken Lewis and forged an instant connection. “The ‘eureka’ moment was writing ‘Light Her Up’ together in 30 minutes. We knew we had something great and just kept collaborating after that,” he explains. “Together we brought out the melody, humor, pocket and style necessary to create the body of work I was looking for.”

Though Future Throwback is meticulously modern, its origins are old school organic. Each track Carey wrote in the studio, he would debut live to gauge its potency. He thoroughly road tested 70 songs and carved out an eleven-song album from the tracks that had that instant jolt of artist-to-audience electricity. Taken has a whole, the album is refreshingly eclectic, a distinct melange of urban bounce and pop-rock strut. To make his vision seamless, Carey oversaw production duties alongside varied but compatible producers Adam Smith (Jason Reeves, Jordin Sparks, Danny Gokey) and Aaron Johnson (Secondhand Serenade, Katie Herzig, Eve6, The Fray).

“I set out to make an album that reflects me – playing these songs makes me feel alive. This has been the most painstaking, frustrating and, ultimately, rewarding artistic process,” Carey says. “It has established my identity for the rest of my life.”

Paul Tabachneck
Paul Tabachneck

I’m a singer-songwriter based in Harlem. When asked what kind of music I do, I call it Pop-Folk, because I play the acoustic guitar and go for bright soaring melodies. My favorite artists are Bill Withers, Elvis Costello, and Patty Griffin.

Trifecta*
Trifecta*
There are three sides to every story… and Trifecta turns them into a conversation. This NYC-based cover trio mixes acoustic guitar, bass & drums into a groovy, dance-able stew. These guys sing & play their hearts out, putting their own spin on pop, rock & soul hits from the 60s to today. If you’re tired of the same old bar bands and want an upbeat cover act that’s both classic & modern at once, place your bet with Trifecta!

Singer/guitarist Paul Sforza spent many fruitful years in Atlanta, where his debut album Lifelines received praise for its “impeccably crafted” songs from Creative Loafing, Atlanta’s #1 lifestyle publication. Since his return home, Paul has released two more EPs. Bass player Marty Osterer studied music in central Florida where he formed an eight-piece funk band that featured all over central Florida. In 2000, he relocated to New York, where he served as the in-house bass player for Murder Inc. Records, laying down bass lines for records such as the hit single “I’m Real,” by Ja Rule. Although the original plan was to be a New York Yankee, drummer Tom Papadatosdecided instead to study at Berklee College of Music. He has been performing in the New York area for the last 15 years and has also toured extensively throughout the U.S., Asia and Europe with various artists.
The Lost Weekends
The Lost Weekends

The Lost Weekends are a NYC based trio that bring a decidedly ‘bar-room’ feel to all your favorite classic tunes. Individually, the members have spent years touring and performing on the world stage, but their love of 60’s, 70’s folk, soul, blues and rock n’ roll, and rich 3 part vocal harmonies brought them together to form this exciting new project. Expect a unique take on repertoire spanning quintessential songs from the 60’s to today – edgy, fun and spontaneous.

The Doyle Brothers
The Doyle Brothers

When you combine the timeless classics of the Everly Brothers with the modern swagger of Michael Buble and Bruno Mars, you’ve just experienced “The Doyle Brothers.” Ryan (Vox/Axe) and Todd (Box/Vox) followed up their 2010 Hard Rock Battle of the Bands win, with the release of their first album, “2Bros – 1 Box.” Winning the Global competition gave the Bros. a rare opportunity to open for Paul McCartney, in London’s Hyde Park. With a strong reception to the first EP, the guys collaborated in the fashion of Jamie Cullum and Michael Buble to release a hybrid Original/Cover LP entitled, “Take Two.” This album features classics such as Run Around Sue, Earth Angel and their original, award winning smash hit, “Mama Said.” Currently the Doyles are recording in NYC and can be found playing great clubs across Manhattan. We are a band based in NYC that has been playing together since 2017! We have now released three EPs, Feeding Time(2017), Syrup(2018), and most recently Two Moons(2019) which we are really excited about. Our music is a mix of folk and rock and math rock.

Back to Yours
Back to Yours
Back to Yours makes music for the people, by the people, with the people! Combining classic rock melodies with the energy of early 2000’s crowd pleasers, this up and coming D.C. based band produces an entertaining and upbeat sound. Recently, their impromptu, living room Hey Jude covers and subsequent noise complaints forced them to relocate to a more suitable practice space and in the year since, they have written an album worth of songs that are dying to be recorded.

Daniel Luttway (Lead vocals and keys) and his flowing mane make up for everybody else’s lame, short hair while Aiden Jones (Bass) and Jiaan Mansuri (Drums) hold down the rhythm and groove of the group with their head smashing energy. Meanwhile, the band’s front court, Tommy Levin (Guitar and Vocals) and Bryce Kassalow (Guitar and Vocals) bring out their grungy and sensitive sides with heart-wrenching melodies. In the past six months, Back to Yours has played shows across D.C. playing a sold out show with “Juice” in April then headlining their own packed show in June. Their debut single “Feeling” was released in June, the first of many more releases to come.

Alex Miller Band
Alex Miller Band

Miller’s voice projects something smooth and refreshing. His sound, deep and unique, stretches across a variety of instrumental influences from Phish to Queens of the Stone Age to John Mayer. He came out with this first CD, “Off Season,” at 18, to a crowd of summer acquaintances in 2004. A growing audience encouraged him to invest in a major recording “Just a Dream” released in August 2010. Overwhelmed by the success of his CD release at New York City’s Canal Room, Miller spent months self-booking and self-promoting a successful nationwide summer tour in 2011. As his foot was out the door for that tour in May 2011, a group of investors agreed to support his working on a third CD, titled “Chin Up, Buckle Down, and Let Go.” The songs on this CD chronicle a generic journey across the nation as well as specific events that occurred at stops along the way. “Chin Up, Buckle Down, and Let Go” will release in May 2012. Miller says: “As much fun as it is to be a singer/songwriter, I still prefer the energy of a crowd.” Since moving to New York in 2009, he has played at a number of venues including (le) Poisson Rouge, The Canal Room, The Knitting Factory, Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, The Bitter End, National Underground, and his regular spot–Prohibition. Miller relishes in gaining a fan base and getting his songs heard “the old fashion way”– by performing them.

Pierre Gautier
Pierre Gautier

Born in Avignon, France to an opera-singer mother and an actor-comedian father, Pierre discovered
the artistic “joie de vivre” in his early childhood.
He started playing the trumpet at 8 and played the instrument over 10 years, performing in different
orchestras and small fanfares.
On his 18 th birthday, his parents gifted him his first folk guitar. Pierre instantly started developing a
pure passion for three folk artists that would become his best friends: Bob Dylan, Neil Young and
Johnny Cash.
Naturally, one year later, he bought his first C Major harmonica that would never leave him…
In 2011, Pierre moved to Paris to follow an acting path and took this opportunity to start his first
band called “The Simons,” inspired by the name of his acting class (Cours René Simon). The band
used to perform different covers from memorable groups: The Doors, The Beatles, Michael Jackson,
America, The Rolling Stones, Daft Punk…
In 2018, Pierre achieved his dream to move to the USA (the country of his heritage). He settled in
New York City.
Since then, he has performed almost every week in the West Village. Pierre tries to convey a real
journey to his audience, going through different styles and different cultures: American folk vibes
(Dylan, Cash, John Mayer), French balades (Serge Gainsbourg, Georges Brassens, Charles Trenet),
with a little touch of Brazilian flavor (Chico Buarque, Antonio Carlos Jobim).

Working towards the “small miracles” of joy to help change the world, she hopes to share her instrumental music to help heal, soothe, motivate, and inspire others enduring pain, by giving fans a musical hug and making them feel uplifted and connected to their inner-selves, whilst listening and through introspection.

Andy Mac
Andy Mac

Born into a family of musicians, Andy Mac came out singing and hasn’t stopped yet.

Andy Mac writes pop songs for people who don’t think they like pop music. Although the hooks and harmonies are pleasurably addictive, the lyrical focus skews darker, speaking to an earnest melancholy familiar to fans of staring out of their windows late at night.

Finishing days before he left, Andy brought his debut album, “Music for a Bright Moon Sky” (Stay Clean Music) to New York City from Buffalo, NY. A fully independent effort released on his own label, he played nearly every instrument himself. The album completely sold out of its first run, and music from that release was featured on FOX, MTV, and on XM Radio.

His sophomore release, titled “Struggle Fantastic”, is at once more positive and more introspective, and reveals a maturing artist working through increasingly complicated situations in an effort to find redemption. Funded completely by pledges from Andy’s fans, the album was released along with a complete surprise album entitled “410”, which was recorded in the empty home where Andy grew up.

In 2019, Andy will release “Beggar Billionare”, his fourth album. This album has also been completely funded by Andy Mac’s fans and friends through their generous pledges and shows Andy’s growth as an artist and human.

The core of the band is completed with Gina Rebelo on bass (formerly of Three Day Threshold) and influences from Bootsy Collins to John Paul Jones, creating the foundational surge for the listener to truly become part of the music. Using the depth of life experiences as inspiration for their lyrics, the band strive to connect with the listener through rock-and-roll infused messages of overcoming obstacles with a tinge of sorrow-filled hope. In 2019, Andy will release “Beggar Billionare”, his fourth album. This album has also been completely funded by Andy Mac’s fans and friends through their generous pledges and shows Andy’s growth as an artist and human.

Gideon King and City Blog
Gideon King and City Blog

In 2015, Gideon King & City Blog(GKCB) released a full length CD, City Blog.  The music was met with wide critical acclaim, as the Huffington Post called King a “musical genius” and countless publication praised the musicianship and subtlety of the work. King has a reputation as a rising force in the New York fusion/rock/jazz scene and has worked with John Scofield, members of Steely Dan, Conrad Sewell,  and many other musical giants.

GKCB  will be releasing their newest album, Upscale Madhouse, in March of 2018 and studio reports suggest that if anything the work is even more refined, abstract, and compelling than in the first release.  The album features musical luminaries such as solo artist Marc Broussard, Grammy winner Grace Weber (Chance The Rapper), legendary guitarist John Scofield, Conrad Sewell (Kaigo), Elliott Skinner (Third Story), Gregoire Moiret (The Pat Metheny Group), James Genus (Daft Punk, Herbie Hancock), Kevin Hayes (John Scofield, Steve Gadd), Carolyn Leonhart (Steely Dan), Donny McCaslin (David Bowie), Brendan Fletcher (semifinalist on The Voice), and many more top flight musicians.

It doesn’t stop there though, as the album includes work from established New York City session musicians and producers such as Adrian Harpham (Dr. John, Joss Stone), Nathan Peck (Alex Skolnick Trio), Grammy winner Luques Curtis (Eddie Palmieri), Donald Edwards (Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard), Bryan Reeder (Chris Norton), among others. He has also introduced a number of incredibly talented up-and-coming musicians into the mix such as Kate Kelsey-Sugg, Mike Stephensen, and Liam Budge.

GKCB is excited to announce that as part of their evolution they are at long last performing live. King has assembled an impressive group of musicians, nearly all of whom are part of Upscale Madhouse, to perform in select venues. The first few shows have been packed-house affairs and extremely well-received.

YBM
YBM

Raised in a musical family that helped to shape and cultivate his talent, Newark, New Jersey’s 21-year old Victor DaZe’s talent was evident early on—singing and dancing from as early as the 3rd grade. Victor adds, “I’m the youngest of 6 siblings, and they all have supported me in their own ways—always giving me great advice. My mom sang opera when I was growing up, so music has always been around me—from Pop/R&B, to Hip-hop, Soul, Classical, Rock and Jazz. I get new ideas and inspiration from a little bit of every musical style that’s out there.” Victor DaZe is also a musician and songwriter.

Growing up, Victor DaZe was strongly influenced by legendary artists Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Michael Jackson, and Prince. Today, he is impacted by the music of Usher, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Miguel, and Chris Brown. Victor’s own sound has been described as a blend of Pop and R&B, with a little taste of Funk. His vocal sound makes his music feel unique and distinctively all its own. This kid also has a great look, is a trained dancer, models, and also has experience acting. Make no mistake — Victor DaZe is the total package.

A graduate of The New Jersey Performing Arts Center Scholarship Program, Victor DaZe has not only been a student of singing—currently being trained by Troy Randall (Patti LaBelle, Wyclef Jean, TLC0.He’s worked with Nat Adderly Jr. (Musical Director for Luther Vandross). Victor has been in multiple theatrical performances.  He recently acted and sang in Black Nativity at Crossroads Theatre, Directed by Lee Trusdale and Obediah Wright. Some of his past works include the role of “Judas” in Jesus Christ Superstar, “Miss Roj” in The Colored Museum, and Laertes in Hamlet. Victor studied acting with celebrity acting coach John Pallotta and Wendy McKenzie. He’s also trained in many dance styles, taught by Alfred Gallman, Obediah Wright and Jay Skeete Lee.

In addition to pursuing his love of the arts, Victor was awarded The Governor's Award for Music, The Music Award from The New Jersey Board of Freeholders, and was a finalist in The New Jersey “Shout Down Drugs” televised competition. One of Victor’s performance highlights was being able to sing and perform in Italy, performing as a soloist and also with a full choir everyday for 20 days. As a member of the Rutgers choir he traveled and sang in Germany. He studies Music and Theatre at Rutgers University. His film credits include the tv shows, NBC’s , "The Mysteries of Laura," Investigation Discoveries, “The Perfect Murder” the TV Pilot, “The Internet Ruined My Life” and has done a children's indie film, "The Bird Who Couldn't Fly." He can also be seen in the film shorts, “Breathe Please” as Zeph and “Backstage” as Dominic.

With Victor’s unmistakable blend of Pop-driven, Hip-hop, and R&B—it goes without saying that anticipation for a new music release from this one-of-a-kind talent has been running high. DaZe delivers beyond expectations on “Movin On” — a vibrant, musically diverse song that sets a Rock-layered Lenny Kravitz feel guitar riff with an anthem-styled Soulful, Pop melody. DaZe also shines on “I Apologize” — a Pop/Hip-Hop, vocal-rich driven song that is well produced, and has a memorable hook with a head-nodding beat. Both songs are soon to be released as singles with the help of his producers of Royal Heat Entertainment.

Stay on the lookout for this young new rising star, as songs are being released, along with the launch of his YouTube channel. Victor is also preparing an exciting show to support and promote his new releases, so you’ll be able to catch him live in concerts, and also on the web performing. In closing, Victor adds, “I’ve been working hard, not just for myself, but I really want this and hope my fans appreciate my music, my acting… all of me. I want people to hear my music and feel good; help them get over or out of that relationship, or give them hope. I want my music to be an experience—a good one.”

James Gedeon
James Gedeon

Upon arriving in New York as a graduate student in the late 1980s, James Gedeon immediately began honing his craft in the Greenwich Village music scene in storied venues like The Village Gate, The Back Fence and The Red Lion. By the mid 90s, James had developed a reputation as a singer and songwriter able to make even individuals in the farthest reaches of a venue feel as though they were right up front.

James has since performed at New York's famed LeCirque; The Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center and The Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom where he was part of the opening band for Dan Aykroyd and the Blues Brothers at The Alzheimer's Foundation annual fundraiser. He has also been able to take his music to areas outside of New York, having performed in Washington D.C. at the Smithsonian; The Harvard Club in Boston; in West Virginia at the renowned Greenbrier Resort; the Rocky Mountain resort of Flathead Lake in Kalispell, Montana; Mauna Kea Resort in Kailua Kona, Hawaii; The Ocean Club (twice) on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and he even performed for the King and Queen at the Royal Palace in Morocco.

James has also taken the stage at Pebble Beach Golf Club in California with New York's acclaimed Stingers Band (a gig that had James providing an acoustic opening set for comedian Jerry Seinfeld's performance to an audience that included Clint Eastwood). In addition, he's opened for America, The Marshall Tucker Band, Jay Leno, Dana Carvey and Livingston Taylor. He has also performed with guitarists Oz Noy and Bernie Williams, drummers Dave Weckl and Steve Holley, sax man Mark Rivera (Billy Joel, Ringo Starr, Foreigner) and shared the stage at a private event in Vermont with Harry Connick, Jr.

James also performed at the wedding of radio personality Howard Stern. During the ceremony, James accompanied Dixie Chick Natalie Maines on the couple's wedding song, and followed that up by performing 3 duets with music icon Billy Joel. Later that same night, as a member of the house band, James backed up Phoebe Snow in addition to Pat Monahan of Train on the band's hits "Calling All Angels" and "Drops of Jupiter".

In 2016, James appeared as a finalist and was chosen as the winner of the 19 and over category in "Morristown OnStage" at the Mayo Performing Arts Center for his rendition of James Taylor's "Shower The People" in front of a packed house of 1,300 people. That performance led to Gedeon opening for the iconic band "America" at an April 2016 concert at a sold-out MPAC in Morristown, a show at which James received rave reviews from the audience, and from America.

Currently in the studio recording new material for his upcoming album and in rehearsals for his James Taylor tribute show, Gedeon continues to pursue his music with the same passion that drove him during his early performances in Greenwhich Village more than 25 years ago.

Some of James' most notable music clients have included ESPN Radio, Life Project For Africa, CNN, WPLJ, 77WABC in New York and The New York Jets.

Alex Miller
Alex Miller

TBH is based in New York and performs anywhere their journey takes them. So go check out the music! We all need some saving.
